The Story Told (2014)

A soundtrack composed for the short independent film by the same title; the film is based on an emotionally charged episode in the novel The Historian, by Elizabeth Kostov. The book’s basis is a blending of the history and folklore surrounding Vlad Țepeș and his fictional counterpart Count Dracula.

L’Appassionata (1987 – 1993, incomplete)

Opera in three acts; voices & orchestra

Libretto by John Newell, based on the writings of George Sand and Alfred de Musset; primary roles are for soprano, tenor and baritone.

Scenes from Act I were presented at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts in Pittsfield, Massachusetts in 1992. Audio and sample score pages are available upon request. Please contact me for details.

Pleiades Starpoint (1986)

Collaborative work: art/dance/music
Piano, synthesizer, percussion solo. 25’

Music for a collaborative dance project based on a sculptural work of James Hendricks. Performances were held at the Northampton Arts Center in Northampton, Massachusetts.
